Berg + Schmidt is a member of the independent, owner-managed Stern-Wywiol Gruppe. The group of companies is one of the world’s most successful family businesses in the field of lipid specialities and food ingredients. 


Research and applications oriented development are one of the core competences of the Stern-Wywiol Gruppe. The extensive applications research of the individual companies is concentrated on an area of more than 3,000 m² at the SternTechnology Center in Ahrensburg, near Hamburg, where experts from the fields of lipid technology, spraying and fluid-bed technology, emulsification and enzymes cooperate under one roof in 11 applications laboratories with state-of-the art and innovative technical equipment.
